“Kumi no Shio” is a premium natural salt made 100% from Kume island’s deep seawater, drawn from a depth of 612 meters. The rich minerals of Okinawa’s ocean are carefully concentrated, then crystallized through steam heating and sun drying for a delicate, high-quality finish.
Unlike ordinary refined salts, which are mainly sodium chloride and can have a sharp, one-dimensional taste, this salt is rich in minerals, giving it a soft, slightly sweet flavor with deep,layered umami.
